On the success front, Deputy Government Spokesperson Radklao Inthawong Suwankiri highlighted the triumphant outcome of the “Motor Expo 2023.” The event witnessed a remarkable surge in vehicle bookings, boasting around 53,000 cars and 7,300 motorcycles. Impressively, these bookings encompassed a balance between 61.6% combustion engine cars and 38.4% electric vehicles (EVs).
Radklao credited the pronounced uptick in EV acceptance to the government’s fervent endorsement of electric cars and motorcycles. She specifically mentioned the Board of Investment’s strategic incentives, aiming to allure foreign firms into investing in EV production within Thailand’s borders.
Moreover, she pointed out the shift in motorists’ mindsets, attributing the increased EV adoption to a dual ethos of cost-effectiveness and alignment with the prevailing clean energy trajectory.
In commitment to fostering this growing trend, especially in the sphere of sustainable energy, the government, notably the Ministry of Energy, pledges unwavering support for furthering this narrative of sustainable energy consumption in the days to come.
