TAT, WWF Thailand Promote Travel Ivory-Free Initiative

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable tourism by renewing its collaboration with WWF Thailand to promote the “Travel Ivory-Free” initiative. This joint effort aims to advocate for responsible travel practices, encouraging tourists to make ethical choices while visiting Thailand. Spearheaded by WWF Thailand, the initiative emphasizes the importance of protecting endangered wildlife, particularly elephants, from the illegal ivory trade. Through educational campaigns and outreach initiatives, travelers will be empowered to support ethical wildlife tourism and refrain from activities that exploit wildlife. Ms. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the TAT, expressed the organization’s dedication to promoting sustainable tourism practices, highlighting the significance of raising awareness and encouraging ethical choices among tourists. The collaboration underscores the importance of collective action in promoting sustainable tourism and wildlife conservation in Thailand.
