Suchata Chuangsri, a Bangkok representative, was crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2024 following a glittering final event held at The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi in Bangkok on July 14. The 20-year-old triumphed over 39 other contestants and is set to represent Thailand at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico later this year.
Surisa Susanna Renaud from Phuket earned the title of first runner-up, while Kanruthai Thasabut from Ubon Ratchathani secured third place. Boonyisa Chantrarachai from Maha Sarakham finished in fourth position. Suchata’s journey in beauty pageants began with Miss Rattanakosin, and she achieved third runner-up in the 2022 Miss Universe Thailand contest, later being elevated to second runner-up.
Born in Phuket in 2003, Suchata is the daughter of hoteliers and is trilingual, fluent in Thai, English, and Chinese. She pursued Chinese studies at Triam Udom Suksa School and is currently studying International Relations at Thammasat University’s Faculty of Political Science.
Suchata’s commitment to beauty pageants was influenced by a significant personal health challenge at the age of 16, when she underwent surgery to remove a benign breast lump. This experience inspired her to advocate for breast cancer awareness. Her project, ‘Opal for Her,’ aims to provide hope and support to those facing similar health issues. She emphasizes the importance of using her platform to promote breast cancer awareness and empowerment, not only in Thailand but globally.
Suchata’s victory fulfills her long-held dream and highlights her dedication to making a difference through her role as Miss Universe Thailand.
