Local Storybook Project Meeting Held in Hua Hin

On May 30, 2025, education officials gathered in Hua Hin to participate in a workshop aimed at developing children’s storybooks reflecting local knowledge and culture across 10 provinces in Thailand.

The event, held at the Ibis Hotel Hua Hin, was part of a broader initiative titled “One City, One Story,” supported by the Thailand Knowledge Park (TK Park) under the Office of Knowledge Management and Development (OKMD), a public organization. The program seeks to create illustrated storybooks that incorporate the cultural and intellectual heritage of each province involved.

The workshop was designed to facilitate the development of content rooted in the distinctive identity of local communities. Participants worked collaboratively to draft storybook manuscripts, with the goal of producing regionally authentic educational materials for young readers. These books are intended to be distributed both domestically and internationally, contributing to cultural literacy and the promotion of regional narratives.

Representatives from the Prachuap Khiri Khan Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 under the Ministry of Education, including academic supervisors, school administrators, and teachers, joined the session. The meeting was formally opened by Ms. Tattaya Anussornnaratkit. Ms. Pitchaya Boonluea, Director of the Education Division of Hua Hin Municipality, along with her team, also attended. The workshop featured guidance from experts, including Ms. Hathairat Suda, founder of the Butterfly Library.
