Thailand Halts Cross-Border Bus Routes to Cambodia

Thailand’s state-owned Transport Co. Ltd. has suspended its international bus services connecting Bangkok to Cambodia’s Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, effective June 9, 2025, citing cross-border travel restrictions driven by current security measures.

The suspension applies exclusively to passenger transport, with freight and essential travel remaining unaffected under existing protocols. The move is part of precautionary efforts to maintain safety and order at border checkpoints between the two nations.

The halt will continue until authorities determine that conditions are suitable for resuming service. Affected passengers are encouraged to seek updates or make future travel arrangements via official channels, including the Transport Co. website, mobile applications, social media pages, and authorized ticket outlets across the country.

Assistance is also available through the company’s call center at 02-936–3660 during business hours.

Officials noted that the decision aligns with broader coordination efforts between Thai and Cambodian authorities.
