Exhibition in Hua Hin Honors King Rama IX

An exhibition commemorating the legacy of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great opened on June 18, 2025, at Bluport Shopping Mall in Hua Hin.

Organized by the Hua Hin Municipality, the exhibition is part of the Sufficiency Economy Fair, Father’s Home, and runs through June 22. Its aim is to highlight the late monarch’s contributions to sustainable development and community welfare through visual and interactive displays.

The exhibition centers on key royal initiatives that shaped development in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, such as the construction of Huai Mongkol Road in 1952, sparked by an incident where the royal jeep became stuck in the mud. Other projects showcased include the Royal Rainmaking Project launched in 1955, the Khao Tao Reservoir (1963), and the Km. 5 Rice Mill. Agricultural, environmental, and social development efforts—such as the Royal Land Development Project, the Hua Hin Dog Sanctuary, and the Huai Sat Yai Agricultural Cooperative—are also featured.

Visitors can engage with the exhibition through historical photographs, stories of royal visits, and musical compositions created by King Rama IX. A Bodhi Tree of Loyalty invites attendees to leave written messages on silver and gold plates as a tribute.

The event is open to both residents and tourists. Attending the launch were Deputy Mayor Ms. Busaba Choksuchat, Ms. Kwanruen Supol, Head of Administration, and Mr. Paponpop Duangkaew, Head of Tourism Support for Hua Hin Municipality.
