Big Bike Crash Kills Rider in Fiery Chiang Mai Accident

A fatal motorcycle crash in Chiang Mai’s Doi Saket district on Saturday, June 28, left a 33-year-old man dead after he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a metal roadside barrier.

The accident occurred at 12:43 p.m. along the Chiang Rai–Doi Saket road near Ban Pa Daeng village. Local police and emergency services responded to the scene, where they found the motorcycle engulfed in flames and severely damaged.

According to police reports, the rider, Kritsada Ketprasatkon, was pronounced dead at the scene. The force of the collision with the steel guardrail caused catastrophic injuries, including decapitation. Authorities suspect the crash occurred after the motorcyclist failed to navigate a curve, leading to the high-impact collision.

Rescue personnel from the Sawang Samret Chiang Mai Foundation extinguished the fire using chemical agents. The body was transferred to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital for a post-mortem examination, while investigators continue to examine the cause of the crash.

Relatives have been notified, and funeral arrangements will proceed in accordance with local customs. The incident highlights ongoing concerns over road safety for motorcyclists on high-speed routes.
