Half-Half Thailand Travel Program Opens for Bookings July 1

Bangkok, Thailand – The Thai government will launch bookings for its “Half-Half Thailand Travel” initiative on July 1, 2025, with the program set to begin on July 4. Designed to stimulate domestic tourism and support local businesses, the campaign offers subsidies of up to 3,000 baht per night for accommodation.

The scheme, led by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), aims to boost the national economy while making travel more affordable for citizens. A total of 500,000 travel entitlements will be available, allowing each eligible participant to claim up to five travel rights—three for major cities and two for secondary destinations.

Participants booking weekday stays (Monday through Friday) will receive a 50% subsidy on accommodation, capped at 3,000 baht per night. For weekend and public holiday travel, the subsidy covers 40% of the room cost, also up to 3,000 baht. Additionally, each entitlement includes a 500-baht voucher for use at registered restaurants and retailers.

Business operators taking part in the program are required to register through TAT’s partner system and grant permission for Krungthai Bank to verify their credentials. As of June 30, over 34,000 tourism-related businesses have applied, with 6,400 already approved. The remaining applications are undergoing vetting procedures intended to prevent fraud and ensure compliance with eligibility standards.

The final list of approved businesses will be published on the official TAT website on June 30. Citizens will be able to begin claiming entitlements the following day.

Officials, including Deputy Government Spokesperson Sasikarn Wattanachan, emphasized the project’s role in boosting regional economies and supporting Thai tourism operators across the country.
