Caretaker Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has expressed his earnest desire for a peaceful and orderly transition of power as the nation embarks on the journey of forming a new government in the aftermath of recent political events.
With the responsibility of assembling the new administration lying primarily with the Pheu Thai Party, Gen Prayut has reassured the public that he will diligently carry out his duties, ensuring stability and safeguarding the country’s interests during this critical period of transition.
In a statement given by Deputy Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek, the prime minister’s optimism about the future is evident. Rachada pointed to positive signs of economic recovery and an upswing in tourist arrivals to Thailand, instilling hope for a promising and prosperous future while keeping faith in a seamless transfer of authority.
Nevertheless, the formation of the new government has been marred by challenges. The prime ministerial candidate from the Move Forward Party, Pita Limjaroenrat, failed to garner sufficient parliamentary votes to secure support for his candidacy. As a result, the mantle of spearheading the government formation process has now fallen to the Pheu Thai Party.
With all eyes now on the Pheu Thai Party to lead the way in creating the next government, the outgoing prime minister has emphasized the utmost importance of tranquility and stability among the Thai populace. At this crucial juncture, he fervently calls for a harmonious and peaceful transfer of power to ensure a bright and prosperous future for Thailand. The nation’s destiny hangs in the balance, and Gen Prayut’s earnest plea for a smooth transition stands as a testament to the critical juncture that Thailand finds itself in.
