A popular social media influencer on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, was arrested for posting obscene videos and pictures that reportedly earned her almost one million baht.
Police officers, armed with a warrant, conducted a search at a house in Lat Phrao Soi 101, Bang Kapi district. The raid led to the arrest of Kanok-orn Phengphut, 24, who has over 100,000 followers on X. Pol Maj Gen Athip Pongsiwapai, commander of the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD), confirmed the details of the operation.
Kanok-orn admitted she was both the owner of the house and the individual featured in the explicit social media content. Authorities seized a mobile phone along with clothing she wore while filming the obscene material in various locations, including a convenience store and the parking lots of shopping malls.
The viral clips depicted Kanok-orn exposing her naked body by opening her clothes. She confirmed to the police that she owned the X account and had posted the videos and photos in early April, though they have since been deleted.
One of the videos, showing her undressing in a shopping mall car park in Bang Kapi, was filmed between April and May. The account, which began offering memberships in March, had generated nearly one million baht for Kanok-orn since its inception.
The arresting officers have charged Kanok-orn with selling pornographic materials and disseminating them via a computer system. She has been handed over to the TCSD police for further legal action.
Authorities emphasize that this case highlights the importance of monitoring and regulating online content to prevent the spread of obscene materials. The TCSD continues to investigate and act against individuals who exploit social media platforms for illegal activities.
