Mr. Thanaphon Ballangsamrong, a 25-year-old member of the Mor Lam Sing group, was walking with Suea Teeraphon Chaiyalert when the incident occurred. The surveillance footage showed a white sedan and a motorcycle closely following a black sedan as it nearly collided with the victim. The situation escalated when the motorcycle rider, accompanied by occupants of the white sedan, accused the victim of insulting them.
Later that night, near Srichan Road, the black sedan abruptly turned and the motorcycle rider crossed a river to inform their friends about the altercation. The group then sought out the victim, who had already left the scene. However, their pursuit ended tragically when a gunman emerged from a black sedan near Khon Kaen Railway Station and opened fire at the victim’s vehicle.
Mr. Thanaphon recounted the harrowing experience, mentioning how the perpetrator had attempted to force him to pull over and engage in a conversation. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
