In a tragic incident in Sisaket, a missing hospital patient was found dead in the backseat of a nurse’s car on October 21, 2024. The deceased, 53-year-old Ms. Bunthita Sirikul, had been reported missing earlier in the day from Sisaket Hospital, where she was being treated for a medical condition.
Ms. Bunthita was discovered around 18:00 inside a black Honda Jazz parked on Ubon Road in Mueang Tai Subdistrict, Sisaket Province. The car, with a license plate from Ubon Ratchathani, belonged to Ms. Nantawadee, a nurse at Sisaket Hospital. Ms. Nantawadee stated that she had driven the car to work that morning and had parked it near the hospital entrance before starting her shift. Upon returning to her vehicle in the evening, she found Ms. Bunthita’s body in the backseat.
The nurse reported that she had never met Ms. Bunthita before and speculated that the woman might have entered the unlocked car during the day. The family of the deceased explained that Ms. Bunthita had been suffering from brain atrophy for two years and had been at the hospital for a doctor’s appointment. She disappeared when her relatives briefly left her alone to use the restroom.
While the family does not suspect foul play, authorities are conducting an investigation, having taken witness statements and gathered evidence. Further inspections of the scene are expected before the case is officially concluded.
